Wednesday, October 04, 2006 Seems so long ago
The random photo under the letters section of this week's City Paper is from the Gossip show at the Ottobar the night of the Championship Bout, which was to determine the season champions, which were the Night Terrors, which is the team that I am on. In case I hadn't said.
In the second row back starting on the left, you can see Nasty Trick of the Night Terrors, Betsy Battleaxe of the Junkyard Dolls (now of the Violent Femmes [evidently they asked the band if this was OK, and the band said yes] of the North Star Roller Girls in far-off Minneapolis), me, and to the right of the guy with the big head, Ivanna E. Chabrains of the Mobtown Mods.
By the time that picture was taken, I'd already skated in the bout, gotten hugged and photographed, spent a good couple hours at the official afterparty at the Hubcap Inn, trying to drink shots from a personal-size trophy (difficult, given the leaking problem, but not impossible), and made it back into town.
